IGF-1 LR3

Recombinant IGF-1 analog

A modified, long-acting analog of insulin-like growth factor 1 widely used as a research reagent in cell-culture and preclinical growth studies.

Mechanism under study

Activates the IGF-1 receptor to promote cell growth and proliferation; the Long R3 modifications reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, substantially extending its active half-life versus native IGF-1.

Research-reported dosing

As a research reagent, references vary widely (commonly ~20–50 mcg ranges in animal work). Not established or appropriate as a human therapeutic.

Reconstitution

Based on a standard 1 mg vial: with 2 mL bacteriostatic water = 500 mcg/mL (0.5 mg/mL); 1 unit ≈ 5 mcg.

A 40 mcg dose ≈ 8 units (5 mcg per unit).
