Dulaglutide
Long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 analog-IgG4 Fc fusion protein)
Dulaglutide (Trulicity) is an FDA-approved once-weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk reduction. It is a fusion protein linking two modified GLP-1 analog peptides to a human IgG4 Fc fragment, which substantially extends its half-life.
Mechanism under study
Agonizes the GLP-1 receptor to stimulate glucose-dependent insulin release, suppress glucagon, slow gastric emptying, and reduce appetite. The IgG4-Fc fusion resists DPP-4 cleavage and renal clearance, enabling once-weekly dosing.
Research-reported dosing
Labeling describes once-weekly subcutaneous dosing of 0.75 mg or 1.5 mg, with titration options to 3.0 mg and 4.5 mg weekly. Supplied in single-dose prefilled pens/syringes, not reconstituted. FDA-approved (2014).
Not reconstituted - commercial dulaglutide is a ready-to-use prefilled pen. As a large (~60 kDa) Fc-fusion protein it is not handled as a typical lyophilized research peptide, so a bacteriostatic-water injection mix does not apply.

Dulaglutide FAQ
What is Dulaglutide?
Dulaglutide (Trulicity) is an FDA-approved once-weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk reduction. It is a fusion protein linking two modified GLP-1 analog peptides to a human IgG4 Fc fragment, which substantially extends its half-life.
What is the half-life of Dulaglutide?
Approximately 5 days (about 4.5-4.7 days), supporting once-weekly dosing.
What is the research-reported dosing for Dulaglutide?
Labeling describes once-weekly subcutaneous dosing of 0.75 mg or 1.5 mg, with titration options to 3.0 mg and 4.5 mg weekly. Supplied in single-dose prefilled pens/syringes, not reconstituted. FDA-approved (2014).
How is Dulaglutide reconstituted?
Not reconstituted - commercial dulaglutide is a ready-to-use prefilled pen. As a large (~60 kDa) Fc-fusion protein it is not handled as a typical lyophilized research peptide, so a bacteriostatic-water injection mix does not apply.
Is Dulaglutide FDA-approved?
Dulaglutide has an approved status in at least one context — see the overview above for the specific brand, region, and indication. Research-grade material sold separately is for laboratory use only.
