The short answer

Survodutide is an investigational once-weekly GLP-1/glucagon dual receptor agonist given subcutaneously and titrated slowly upward. Phase 2 obesity trials escalated weekly doses up to roughly 4.8 mg; it has also been studied in metabolic liver disease (MASH) and is not approved.

Figures describe how Survodutide is reported in the research literature and research-community references — not a recommendation for human use. For laboratory research only.

Dual GLP-1/glucagon agonist

  • Combines GLP-1 appetite and glucose effects with glucagon-receptor activation linked to energy expenditure and hepatic effects.
  • Studied for both obesity and metabolic liver disease (MASH).

Investigational

  • Not approved for any use; doses shown are approximate figures from clinical trials, not a recommendation.

From vial to injection in 6 steps

1

Wipe both vial tops

Swab the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic-water vial with fresh alcohol and let them dry.

2

Draw the water

Pull the planned amount of bacteriostatic water (2 mL) into the syringe.

3

Add it slowly

Run the water down the inside wall of the vial — don't blast the powder. Swirl gently; never shake.

4

Let it dissolve

Wait until the solution is fully clear, then refrigerate the vial.

5

Draw your dose

Pull the calculated units on a U-100 insulin syringe (~40 units for 2 mg).

6

Store between uses

Keep the reconstituted vial refrigerated and use within its stable window.

Handling & storage

  • Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with bacteriostatic water (a 10 mg vial in about 2 mL gives 5,000 mcg/mL) and swirl gently.
  • Give as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection on a U-100 syringe, rotating sites.
  • Refrigerate the reconstituted vial and protect it from light.

Survodutide dosing FAQ

How often is survodutide dosed?

It is long-acting and was administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection in trials.

What is the highest weekly dose studied?

Phase 2 obesity trials escalated weekly subcutaneous doses up to roughly 4.8 mg.

Why is the dose titrated slowly?

Slow escalation is used across the GLP-1 class to reduce gastrointestinal effects such as nausea; the exact intermediate steps here are approximate.

Is survodutide approved?

No. It remains investigational for obesity and MASH, so all figures are research references rather than a human-use recommendation.
